Q: Where is Hermitage Bay located?
A: Hermitage Bay resort is located on Antigua’s west coast. The resort is approximately 45 min drive from Antigua International Airport (ANU). Fasttrack immigration service can be arranged – please enquire at the time of making your reservation.
Q: Do I need a visa to travel to Antigua?
A: Visa requirements depend on your nationality. Most travelers from the U.S., Canada, the UK and EU countries do not need a visa for short stays. Please consult your local embassy for details.
Q: What is the local currency of Antigua?
A: The currency of Antigua and Barbuda is the East Caribbean dollar (XCD). However, U.S. dollars are widely accepted.
Q: Is it easy to get to Barbuda from Antigua?
A: During your stay on Antigua you may wish to visit our sister island of Barbuda. Transportation is available either via sea or air for an additional cost.
By Ferry
Departures daily (6 times per week) from St. John’s (approximately 30 mins drive from Hermitage Bay). Crossing time is approximately 90 minutes and one‑way fares start around US$55 per person one way (US$100 round-trip)*. Taxis or pre‑booked cars are needed for onward travel as there are no buses on Barbuda.

Private Boat or Charter
You can hire private boats, water taxis or charter services—ideal for groups, custom schedules, or shorter crossings. Crossings take between 60 and 90 minutes. Please enquire with guest services for options and prices.
By Helicopter
The fastest way to reach Barbuda is by helicopter (approximately 10-15 mins). These can be arranged by the resort. Please enquire with Guest Services for options and prices.

A: There is no minimum stay requirement at Hermitage Bay.

Q: What are your check-in and check-out times?
A: Check-in is from 3:00pm and check-out is by 12:00pm. Early check-in or late check-out is subject to availability.
Q: Do you offer airport transfers?
A: Yes, we offer complimentary private transfers to and from the V.C. Bird International Airport for stays 3 nights or more. Please contact us in advance to arrange your transport.

Q: What room types are available?
A: We offer a variety of spacious Villa Suites with either ocean views or garden views. Hillside and Garden Pool Villa Suites also benefit from private pools. You can explore all room categories on our Accommodations page. Each Villa Suite is a stand-alone unit with its own private entrance. Accommodations are located throughout the property with some having direct access to the beach whilst others are located on the hillside with views towards the ocean.
Q: How do I get around the resort?
A: The property is located in Jenning’s Village,St. Mary’s Parish, Antigua. The public spaces and some accommodations are located at sea level, with other accommodation located on the hillside behind the resort. A network of waymarked pathways make it easy to navigate the small property, and golf-buggies are always on hand to transport guests to and from their Villa Suites.

Q: Can the Villa Suites accommodate more than two people?
A: Some rooms can accommodate a third person (ages 14-16) on a rollaway bed. However, our king-sized beds cannot be separated into twins.
Q: Are there any two bedroom accommodations?
A: No. All our Villa Suites are single-bedroom only.
Q: Are your rooms air-conditioned?
A: Yes, all of our Villas Suites feature individually controlled air conditioning for your comfort.
Q: Is Wi-Fi available?
A: Complimentary high speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the property. However, we do ask guests to not use laptops or mobile phones in some of the public spaces.
Q: When was the resort last refurbished?
A: Hermitage Bay underwent a full renovation between 2023 and 2024. This includes refurbishment and redesign of all accommodation, complete renovation and refurbishment of public spaces, addition of the Tree Bar and Beach Club and renovation of the Spa.

Q: Is Hermitage Bay All-Inclusive
A: As an all-inclusive property, our aim is to make your stay with us as carefree and effortless as possible. Whilst here you can enjoy limitless cocktails and beverages as well as a generous seasonal menu that changes daily. Each day you will enjoy:

Q: What dining options are available on-site?
A: Hermitage Bay offers multiple venues for eating and drinking:
The Restaurant: Our main restaurant has views overlooking Jenning’s Bay and serves breakfast daily between 7:30am-10:30am and dinner between 7 pm and 9 pm.
The Lounge Bar: Our main bar overlooks the pool and is open daily for coffees and beverages from 7am to 10:30am. Guests can also enjoy a range of snacks here during the day. In the evening, guests can enjoy pre-dinner cocktails or post dinner aperitifs accompanied by local entertainment.
The Tree Bar: Head to the Tree Bar on the beach for some freshly prepared sushi washed down with our famous Hermitage Rum Punch, a Pineapple Caipirinha or Antigua Sunset. Sushi is served daily between 4:30-5:30 and 5:30-6:30pm. Reservations are required for enjoying sunset sushi at these times.
The Beach Club: Our Beach Club is a popular spot for our guests to enjoy lunch between the hours of 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm. The club serves seasonal local fayre such as fresh fish and meats cooked on our grill. Guests can enjoy a relaxed lunch whilst being entertained by local musicians creating a truly authentic Caribbean experience.
Romantic Beach Dinner: For those looking for a truly special experience, we welcome guests to enjoy a romantic dinner under the stars for two on the edge of the Caribbean Sea. Our chefs will prepare a special menu for you. This experience costs US$254 per person for a 3 course dinner. As places are limited, we recommend booking in advance of your stay.
In-Room Dining: Should you wish to relax in the comfort of your Villa Suite, you can choose from our comprehensive in-room dining menu. In-room dining is available between the hours of 7:30am and 9pm.
Q: What type of cuisine is offered at Hermitage Bay?
A: Our restaurants and bars offer international, Caribbean, and farm-to-table cuisine.
Q: Is the food locally sourced?
A:We only believe in using the freshest ingredients in our restaurants and bars. That's why we grow many of our own fruits, vegetables and herbs right here on the resort in our organic kitchen garden.
Not only does this keep food miles to the absolute minimum, but ensures the quality of the produce we use in our dishes is second to none. We even offer guided tours with our gardeners, for those looking to find out more.
Q: Do you cater to dietary restrictions?
A: Absolutely. Please let us know in advance, and our culinary team will be happy to accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and other dietary needs.

Q: Can I book I book a massage in the privacy of my Villa Suite?
A: Yes. Our spa therapists can make arrangements to provide treatments (excluding the Art of Love) in the comfort of your Villa Suite. Please note that in-suite treatments will incur a 20% surcharge.
Q: Is the beach private?
A: All beaches in Antigua are public. However, Hermitage Bay’s location ensures that there is minimal use by non-resident guests compared to other more accessible beaches on the island.
Families & Children
Q: Is the hotel family-friendly?
A: Hermitage Bay is an adult only property. Teenagers are welcome over 14 years of age but we do not run dedicated programmes for them. All our accommodations are single bedroom only and guests must be 18 years or over to stay on their own in a Villa Suite.
