Farm Tour
For those guests that are interested in where the food on their plates comes from we offer a guided tour of the farm of one of our local fruit and vegetable suppliers. The farmer’s name is Mr Christian and he, like his father before him, has been growing tropical produce all his life. He supplies us directly but also sells a good portion of his production each week at the market ion a Saturday morning in St. Johns, which is well worth a visit but you have to be an early riser since it starts at around 4am!
He grows a vast array of tropical fruits and is knowledgeable about growing, grafting and the provenance of the plants he nurtures.
The tour is a real treat and, depending on the season, you will have the opportunity to see and taste tropical fruits such as ackee, custard apple, sugar apple, soursop, cashew, genip, shaddock, West Indian cherry, guava, dumbs, tamarind, noni and as many as 14 different types of mango.
The tour also gives you the opportunity to see a truly authentic Antiguan small holding run by a warm, intelligent, likeable and engaging local farmer.
